Aquest Esteve Foundation Symposia número 5 sorgeix com a resultat del simposi internacional organitzat per la Fundació Dr. Antoni Esteve l’octubre de 1992 sobre la farmacologia de la diferenciació cel•lular. R.A. Rifkind, de l’Sloan-Kettering Institute de Nova York n’és l’editor. En aquesta reunió de treball es va fer una exploració dels mecanismes generals i específics implicats en els sistemes inter i intracel•lulars relacionats amb la transducció de senyals implicats en el creixement i desenvolupament cel•lular.
