After the jump of How to write a scientific article, now it is the turn of another emblematic course of the Dr. Antoni Esteve Foundation. How to perform oral presentations in biomedicine presents its first online edition by the same teachers as its face-to-face modality and with the same objective: to lay the foundations of the oral presentation, addressing both the strictly scientific aspects of the content and the formal aspects related to verbal expression, voice regulation or body language.

The course will take place on October 25, 27 and 28, and November 3, 4 and 8, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. CET, in live sessions through the Teams platform. All sessions will be recorded so that participants can view the videos up to a month later.

To address how to prepare, build and execute a good oral biomedical presentation, the course has the experience of Elena Muñoz, family doctor in Maó and member of the SEMFYC Communication and Health Group, and María Isabel Martín, professor of pharmacology from the Rey Juan Carlos University with extensive experience in preparing doctoral theses.

From the field of performing arts, theater director Àlex Mañas and actress Aina Clotet contribute their experience to the course, who will help participants to improve the formal aspects of oral presentations. The seminar combines the theoretical classes by the teaching staff with practical exercises and the participation of the students.

The course is primarily aimed at postgraduates in biomedical sciences (medicine, pharmacy, biology, nursing, veterinary medicine, physiotherapy, etc.), with limited or little experience in the oral presentation of results. It can also be a useful course for people with some experience who would like to expand their knowledge, practice and perfect their oral presentation skills.
