Special collaboration: Seminar on Women and Science (2003)

In the scope of the Science Week, a seminar on Women and Science was held last November 12 at the University of Barcelona, sponsored by the Esteve Foundation, among others. The meeting was inaugurated by the Principals of the different universities and by the Institutional Coordinator of the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) (High Council for Scientific Research). During the seminar, women from the academic, scientific and cultural fields analyzed the position of women in universities, in the CSIC or in the entrepreneurial field. Likewise, the distance to be covered before true gender equality is achieved, as well as the social perception of female investigators in science and technology, was discussed.
