The Dr. Antoni Esteve Foundation will be present at the Advances in Computational Biology conference organized by the International Society for Computational Biology on November 28 and 29, 2019 at La Pedrera in Barcelona. The conference will bring together researchers working on systems biology, omics technologies, artificial intelligence and high-performance computing with applications to biology from both the public and private sectors.
One of the main purposes of the conference is to promote and make the research done by women in the bioinformatics field visible. This is why all speakers will be women, although the conference is open to everyone. That’s why the Dr. Antoni Esteve Foundation has awarded five scholarships for students and researchers to attend the two working days with oral communications and posters.
They are Inmaculada Álamo-Álvarez (Mechanistic approach for optimal model selection in cancer research); Fatma Cankara (Prediction of the Effects of Single Amino Acid Variations on Protein Functionality with Annotation Centric Modeling); María José Jiménez-Santos (Targeting Intratumoral Heterogeneity with in silico Drug Prescription Tools); Martiela Freitas (CRISPR/Cas9 in silico off-targets prediction for Mucopolysaccharidosis Type I through comparative analysis); and M. Isabel Agea Lorente (Classification model with Conformal Prediction applied to Glucocorticoid Receptor virtual library).
The conference is organised by the Bioinfo4Women programme from the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC-CNS) with the collaboration of IMIM-UPF Research Programme on Biomedical Informatics (GRIB), the Spanish National Bioinformatics Institute (INB/ELIXIR-ES) and the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC). It is an affiliate conference of the International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB).
Online reservations are not available for this event.
