This number 5 of the Esteve Foundation Symposia series is the result of the international symposium organized by the Esteve Foundation in October 1992 on the pharmacology of cell differentiation, and is edited by R.A. Rifkind, from the Sloan-Kettering Institute of New York. In this meeting, the general and specific mechanisms involved in the inter- and intra-cellular systems related to the transduction of signals involved in cell growth and development were explored.
