The first dictionary of medical terminology in Catalan (Corachan dictionary, 1932) was published in 1930 to meet the need of having a reference when presenting and writing work in this language.Work is now being done on the DEMCAT project, the online version of the Diccionari Enciclopèdic de Medicina, which will update 70,000 entries regarding health, and sponsored by the Esteve Foundation together with the Department of Health of the Catalan Regional Government.
