Ten years experience in training health professionals in writing and publishing of scientific articles –this is what the Esteve Foundation will present at the Seventh International Congress on Peer Review and Biomedical Publication, which will take place from the 8th to 10th September in Chicago. Esteve Fernández, who along with Ana M. Garcia has been at the forefront of the 27 editions of the Training Seminar How to write a scientific paper, will present the results of two course-evaluation surveys distributed to all course participants.

A total of 683 people, 72% women, have completed the 27 editions of How to write a scientific paper. Most found the experience to be very positive in the evaluation form that was handed out right after the seminar. In a later survey, students also reported improved knowledge, attitude and skills when writing and publishing a scientific article. They emphasized, above all, the need to include this type of training in undergraduate and graduate programs.

The Poster Ten years’ experience teaching health professionals to write and to publish articles was displayed on the 9th (between 14:30 a 15:45) and 10th of September (from 10-11h) in the Hotel Swissôtel, which is the venue for the conference organized every four years by JAMA (Journal of the American Medical Association) and the BMJ (British Medical Journal) to improve the quality and credibility of peer review and biomedical publications and to advance the efficiency, effectiveness and impartiality of biomedical information worldwide.
