The Esteve Foundation will be present at the Ibero-American Congress of Epidemiology and Public Health, to be held from September 4th to 6th, 2013, in Granada. It will present the results of the two workshops organized in 2010 and in 2012 at the School of Public Health and in which faculty from multiple Spanish universities agreed on concerning the basic content the different degree programs in the discipline should have.
The poster has been written by Mª Carmen Davó, Carmen Vives and Carlos Álvarez, from the Area of Preventive Medicine and Public Health at the University of Alicante, and Fernando G. Benavides, Andreu Segura and Fèlix Bosch, from the Department of Experimental Sciences and Health, Pompeu Fabra University. After reviewing subjects with public health content in 13 degree courses, the authors conclude that in all of them activities and competencies can be identified for the three core functions of public health: assessing the health needs of the population, developing health policy and guaranteeing the provision of health services.
The presentation will take place on September 6th in Screen 2 on training in public health, in the space provided at the Andalusian School of Public Health (University Campus of La Cartuja) for presenting posters.The Ibero-American Congress of Epidemiology and Public Health is organized by the Spanish Society of Epidemiology, Spanish Society of Public Health and Health Administration and the Portuguese Society of Epidemiology.
