What are medicines? How do they work? How are they discovered and manufactured? For young people to know more about how medicines work, the Esteve Foundation has published the book in Catalan Els medicaments i jo, which was presented on 25 June 2014 at El Palauet of Barcelona.

The presentation of the book included speeches by Cristina Avendaño, president of the Sociedad Española de Farmacología Clínica (Spanish Society of Clinical Pharmacology) and ex-director of the Agencia Española de Medicamentos y Productos Sanitarios (Spanish Agency of Medicines and Health Products), and Aleix Gabarró, director of the Instituto Montserrat of Barcelona.

Through informative illustrations by Marta Capdevila, the book explains how medicines work in our organism, the different ways of administering them, adverse reactions and research and manufacturing processes of drugs, along with the national and international institutions that control them.
