Este B·Debate, una iniciativa de Biocat y Obra Social “la Caixa”, está organizado por el Observatori Global del Son (OGS), el Institut de Recerca Biomèdica de Lleida (IRB Lleida) y AdSalutem Institute, y busca promover una discusión abierta entre investigadores, médicos, líderes y organizaciones sociales y culturales, representantes empresariales y sindicales, políticos y también medios de comunicación, a fin de crear conciencia sobre la importancia de disfrutar de un sueño de calidad.
Para alcanzar este objetivo, este B·Debate abordará preguntas candentes sobre la investigación del sueño y su impacto en la sociedad, como el uso de big data y wearable technologies para la investigación, la formulación y seguimiento de políticas, el papel emergente de los pacientes informados en el diagnóstico y la toma de decisiones, el impacto multifacético del sueño en la productividad y la economía, su importante papel como condición comórbida en múltiples enfermedades y su importancia para algunos colectivos vulnerables, como niños y ancianos. El debate se cerrará con una sesión sobre “El sueño para un envejecimiento saludable” donde se evaluará cómo se pueden aprovechar la investigación, el análisis, la formación y las iniciativas de divulgación con el fin de efectuar cambios sociopolíticos sobre la percepción del sueño y sus trastornos.
