The audiovisual format is becoming increasingly important in the face of the unstoppable rise of social networks, both in obtaining resources for research and in scientific dissemination. It is about reaching the target audience in an attractive, contemporary and understandable way. This new online course from the Dr. Antoni Esteve Foundation aims to establish the foundations on how to communicate scientific projects by recording and editing a short, simple, direct and effective video, with the camera of a mobile phone or similar, that can be published in social networks.
Aimed at both students and scientific and communication professionals interested in disseminating their projects or science in general, the new online course How to disseminate your scientific project in a video for social networks took place between October 3 to 21 2022, in three weekly sessions from 6 pm to 8 pm (October 3, 5, 7, 10, 13, 14, 17, 19 & 21, 2022).
Directed by Ana Montserrat Rosell, director of the program tres14 of La 2 and of the documentary AI, AI, AI! // Artificial Intelligence, the participants were part of the entire process of creating a video, from focus to editing, going through the preparation of the script and the capture of images with a Smartphone or through the search for files and music. For this they also had the help of the post-production director Daniel Camino, who showed them the keys to managing the Premiere Rush program, and the creative, editor and director Arturo Bastón.
For Ana Montserrat, the first and most important question that a scientist must ask before preparing a video is what he needs it for and who is it for? Once the objective has been defined, work will be done to reduce the message to a single idea. To open the mind to all kinds of resources and genres, several fragments of films, advertising campaigns and videos for social networks are viewed that manage to capture the attention of the viewer in a few seconds and we will analyze their resources. From there, each student develops their own video, always guided by the teachers. In this process, the practical and theoretical sessions alternate.
1st edition: From September 20 and September 8 October 2021, in three weekly sessions from 6 pm to 8 pm (September 20, 22, 23, 27 and 29 and October 1, 4, 6 and 8, 2021
